Voluntary and Community Sector Users
Voluntary and Community Sector participants must be from a NICVA member organisation (or have individual membership of NICVA) to be eligible for MediaConnect. If you are not a NICVA member you can join here.
Eligible organisations can have one or more people listed on MediaConnect.
Participants must commit to maintaining their profile and contact details with accurate and up to date information. A 'last updated' date will be visible to media professionals. Profiles that have not been reviewed or updated for long periods are
unlikely to be used by the media.
Participants agree to be contacted by media professionals and by NICVA, using any of the information supplied through MediaConnect, as required to maintain and develop the service.
Participants are encouraged to agree to media requests meeting their area of expertise if available, as to refuse would invalidate the purpose of MediaConnect and potentially harm future working relationships with journalists.
Media Professional Users
Those wanting to register for MediaConnect must be bona-fide media professionals (this includes: journalists, broadcasters, producers, editors and researchers for established media organisations).
Media organisations may have multiple professionals register on the site.
Media professionals can contact voluntary and community sector participants using the contact details provided. This information should not be downloaded or stored elsewhere.
Information derived from MediaConnect about participants and their organisations, should only be used for the intended purposes of the service and must not be passed on to third parties outside the media and voluntary sectors.
