In order to register your MediaConnect account you need to redeem an invitation code sent to the email address you provided to us.
When you click on the link provided in the email you will be brought to the following screen with your invitation code pre-filled and the option to register.
Click 'Register' and you will be brought to the next page.
Enter the email address that your invite was sent to and create your password. The password must be at least 10 characters long.
Click 'Register' and you will be brought to your MediaConnect profile.
It is also not possible to use the same email address for two separate accounts, as these are used for authentication.
We also ask that you do not share accounts between users, and that you do not forward invitation emails to others to use MediaConnect—including your own colleagues.
Trying to alter profile information to another person's will create confusion as the profiles will then be mismatched.
If you have received an invitation email that was not addressed to or intended for you, or the profile has information that you don't recognise as your own, please contact us and we can create a new invitation for you to register.
Navigate to your profile and select 'no' under the 'List me on MediaConnect' option.
While your account will still be active, your profile information will not be available to others and you will not appear in the lists on the site.
If you change your mind, you can change this option back to 'yes' to be listed again.
Your profile helps journalists to find the person with the right expertise, and to find the right details so that you can be contacted quickly for media opportunities.
Guidance on what to include
|Job Title||Please give your job title that accurately describes what you do|
|Mobile Phone||Include the mobile phone number you want to be contacted on for media enquiries|
|Business Phone||Include the business phone number that you want to be contacted on for media enquiries|
|Email address||Include your email address. This is used for communicating with you about your MediaConnect account and to allow media professionals to contact you from the platform. Please do not use info@ or another person's address.|
|Include the name of you or your organisation's Twitter account (e.g. @johnsmith)|
|Include a link to your professional LinkedIn account (e.g. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-smith-987122)|
|List me on MediaConnect||Option to allow your profile to be displayed or hidden from the MediaConnect listings. Changes are not permanent and your account will remain open for you to manage if this is set to 'no'. If you change your mind in future, you can login again and change this setting.|
|Available for radio or TV interviews||Option to allow you to let media professionals to know if you are willing to participate in media interviews broadcast on TV or radio. Set to 'yes' or 'no'.|
|Your areas of expertise||Comma-separated list of topics that describe your own expertise. This can include topical issues (e.g. Brexit, Welfare Reform). This is an important field as it is used to search for appropriate experts.|
|Organisation Bio||Information about the organisation that you represent on MediaConnect - who they are, what they do, and how they work.|
